Make my pc faster - Registry

We all know the frustration of having a computer which is sluggish and slow.  Through time, computers do slow down.  However, that doesn’t make it any easier when you are unable to do various things, like browse the web, watch a movie, play games, or correspond with friends via e-mail and social networking.  There are some things you CAN do, to solve the PC slowdown issue.  Having a computer that can run faster is essential in our Web 2.0 world.

Any Windows based computers, and Macs as well, will suffer from slowing down sooner or later.  One of the root causes is that of your PC registry.  The registry is a large database which plays a central role in program access and data storage for your PC.  It’s the storehouse of all the information on your PC such as: word processing documents, data for games played, screen savers, and internet searches.

When the registry slows a computer down, the rate of slowing will increase with every new installation or application.  As more and more data gets added to the registry, your computer has a heavier and heavier load of luggage to access.  Also, with the addition or deletion of applications, games, and software; information can be corrupt or damaged.  In other words, the amount and type of information in the registry means that your PC will require more and more time to work its way through it – meaning it continues to slow down considerably.   There are ways, though, to make your computer run faster.

A simple solution is to clear out, replace, or repair any and all corrupt or damaged files in the registry.  There is software available which is an actual ‘registry cleaner.’  What this does is clear any old and damaged entries in your system and delete the data files which are the causes of it running more slowly.

About the Free online Scanner

Free Online Virus Scanner is an effective solution to scan and remove common virus and malware threats from your computer without the need to install separate antivirus software. All it requires are launcher, Java or Active-x components. Using free online virus scanner might not help protect your system from viruses, but at least you can remove existing infection.  As the saying goes, not all antivirus are created equal.

Tune up computer, make it faster

Tune up computer

Windows performance decreases over time. Just like your car your computer needs to be serviced to perform right. When tuning up your computer , we hope to achieve four goals:

1. Reduce the processor load
2. Reduce memory usage
3. Reclaim disk space and optimize disk access
4. Ensure optimal use of the network connection

Some Windows computers are slow due to a bottleneck; a single resource that is in short supply, which slows down the entire system. Once we have identified the reason why a system is slow we can resolve it.We will explain to you how to reduce processor load and memory usage using Task Manager.
In the Task Manager you have a tool to analyze performance and identify resource limitations. For typical consumer computers, common areas which need tuning up include:nnecessary programs within the Start-up list and Systray which you can remove.
The Start-up List: Running only necessary programs in the Start-up list makes Windows boot faster. This also eliminates unneeded Systray programs that launch during start-up. Check your Systray, down in the lower right-hand corner of your screen ... do you recognize every icon there? If not, you should delete them.
Access Windows start-up list through the System Configuration Utility by Start Run msconfig. Using the System Configuration Utility, you'll view a list of all the start-up processes. You can disable any you want to eliminate. If you don't know what a process is or what it does our technicians will help you.
The reason the start-up list accumulates unneeded programs is that many applications add processes to it when they are installed (usually without asking). The result is that computers quickly become cluttered with pointless start-up processes. You may occasionally run into an ill-behaved process or malware that you can not remove this way. These require further operations, which we are always ready to offer you assistance with.
Services. Just like the start-up processes, many programs add unnecessary services (resident background programs) to your computer. Windows by default runs many services you don't need.
You'll notice each Service has a one sentence description. Sometimes this will tell you whether you need the Service, but in most cases it won't. Again, if you are in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us!

How to speed up computer| Speed up your PC with 8 simple tips

Over time, the speed of computers with Microsoft Windows (Xp, Vista , 7, 8) can decrease. This appears as the system taking more time to respond to a user’s actions like opening and closing the files, folders, surfing the Internet and other tasks. However, there are things you can do to make your computer run faster.
The following is a list of ways you can improve your computer's performance. You can maintain your computer, help increase your PC speed, and help keep it running smoothly.
  1. Accumulating lots of shortcuts on your desktop is something which we all do, however, this is a major factor why our desktops and laptops may be slow to start up! Our advice here at Anylives would be to remove all shortcuts on your desktop that you really don't need, as a general rule of thumb, anything you have not used within the last month should be removed! Note though that deleting the shortcut will not uninstall the program, so no need to worry about that! On Windows systems the shortcuts can be deleted by right-clicking on them and then selecting the delete option.
  2. With the internet being one of the most prodominantly used things today, it is inevitable that there will be a world full of viruses, malware and all other nasty things trying to get into your computer! With this in mind, an infection can cause your computer to slow downdramatically! One simple step you can always follow is to keep your anti-virus software up-to-date, as this means it will be protected against all new viruses that hit the internet. Running full system scans can then seek out any malicious software and remove it safely, meaning your now able to use your computer safely, and hopefully at a much higher speed!
  3. As you use programs and go about your daily routine, your computer builds up files that were used throughout the day to carry out certain processes. These files are only used for the period of the time the program is and so they are stored in the temporary files folder, to find this folder just open your “My Computer” screen and type in “%TEMP%”, and then simply delete all the files, making sure all your programs are closed before you do so! You can also delete the files in the temporary internet files directory to speed up computer.
  4. Your taskbar is located on the bottom right of your screen where the time is displayed. This shows all the programs that are currently running on your computer, some which may have started automatically, some which you may have minismised. Either way these programs are using up your CPU even if you are not using them, so your computers speed is greatly affected! You can close the programs you do not need simply by right clocking on the icons and selecting the exit option.
  5. Change your desktops or laptops energy usage to “High Performance”, this option is extremely effective in speeding up laptops if it wasn't already selected."
  6. Over time as we install programs onto our computers we lose the need for other software, however most people fail to uninstall this software unaware that it is taking up valuable space and costing us speed! The uninstall option for most programs can be found in its folder in your programes directory.
  7. Your computer can automatically scan and fix disk errors, and if there is found to be a problem, then fixing it can lead to a large jump in the speed of your process. To get Windows to do this, select "Start" - "Programs" - "Accessories" - "System Tools" - "Scan disk", then select "Automatically fix errors" and then "Start", as soon as the process is completed you can "Close" to exit. This also can make computer faster!
  8. As you use your computer regularly and over a period of time, files and folders on a computers hardrive will break down and become fragmented. The effect of this is often heard through grinding or stuttering noises when your computer is loading up, a sign that you may need to defragment. Defragmenting the computer generally improves retrieval time and overall performance, and doing so is very easy: Right-click a drive icon in "My Computer" - "Properties" - "Tools" - "Defragment".
